We Have Hallmark Card Studio 2005, and the Event Planner doesn't come up, it was working fine, and all of a sudden it didn't work.  I uninstalled and re-installed it and tried it again and nothing.  I had a calender with all the birthdays on it and it won't come up!!!!  Please help!

Dave,

What precisely is not coming up? Are you talking about the reminders screen when you start your computer? Or are you talking about trying to open the Event Planner program from within the main Hallmark program? If it is the latter, are you getting an error message when you try to open the Event Planner? If so, what is the error message you are getting?

The error I get says "Event Planner is already running under a different user"s account on this computer.  Event Planner can only run one instance on a single computer."

I don't understand that.  It used to work fine and now all of a sudden it doesn't.  It is Card Studio 2005.

Dave,

What are you clicking on before the error message appears? Are you trying to open the Event Planner via the Event Planner button on the main screen of Hallmark? Are you trying to open the Reminders window by clicking on the Reminder balloon on the system tray? Or are you doing something else?

Dave,

I need to understand what you are clicking on before the error appears.

Are you trying to open the Event Planner via the Event Planner button on the main screen of Hallmark? Are you trying to open the Reminders window by clicking on the Reminder balloon on the system tray? Or are you doing something else?

Dave,

I never heard back from you regarding the questions I asked. Are you trying to open the Event Planner via the Event Planner button on the main screen of Hallmark? Are you trying to open the Reminders window by clicking on the Reminder balloon on the System Tray? Or are you doing something else? If so, what precisely are you doing?

Dave,

I apologize. I do not see anywhere in this conversation you mentioning a "pull down" before. What "pull down" are you referring to? Also, what "calendar" are you clicking on to open the Event Planner? Please provide me step-by-step directions on what you are doing to launch the Event Planner either of these ways.

I do not want to make any assumptions. Have you tried restarting your computer to see if the Event Planner will open afterwards? The message you reported normally appears when the Event Planner data file is in use by another instance of the Event Planner. This may happen when the last good session of the Event Planner never fully closed.

Like I have said, it doesn't matter what I click on, it doesn't open.  It used to work fine, and now it doesn't.  Can you get me to someone that can actually help me??  Like I asked earlier, did I check something that disabled it?  I have installed it, and re-installed it, and nothing!! Please help!

Dave,

It does make a difference in knowing which way(s) precisely you have tried to open the Event Planner. Off the top of my head, there are 4 different ways to launch the Event Planner. Each method triggers the launch of the Event Planner differently. Knowing all of the ways you tried to do it will let me know what other ways are left to try to launch it. If one method does work while the others fail, that may provide insight on what is causing the problem. In order to know what to try to suggest next, I need to know exactly what you have tried before.

Technical Support does not provide support for your version of Hallmark Card Studio. As far as I know of, I am the only one actively helping others with Hallmark issues on this site. So, there is not anyone else that I can refer you to for assistance with your issue.

I will be happy to help you, but I need detailed information in order to diagnose the problem. Thus far, our conversation has been the equivalent of going to a doctor and saying "I do not feel well. Fix me." Then, not telling the doctor anything other than "I do not feel well." I understand that the end result problem is that the Event Planner will not launch. However, I need more information than that to try to fix the problem. There are multiple reasons why that may happen. In order to determine which of those reasons may be causing the issue on your system, I need detailed information (i.e. step-by-step examples) on what you have done and the results from those actions you performed.

So, please explain to me what you mean by "pull down" and which "calendar" you are referring to in your previous posts. If you have to go to a special location in Hallmark Card Studio to access either of those options, please provide me step-by-step directions on how to get there. Also, if there are any other methods you have tried to launch the Event Planner, please provide me details on what those were. Lastly, you did not answer on whether or not you have tried restarting the computer and testing the Event Planner afterwards. I would still need to know that as well.

Hi Robby. I am also getting the same problem. When the pc starts, I will see a reminder on the task bar with no details. When I click on it it will say that event planner is already running under a different user on this computer. Then when I click ok, the planner will open with all the details. I am running the 2014 version. When I had the 2013 version, each time the pc starts, there will be a reminder on the task bar with the details. But now just a reminder with no details and the error message. Can you help. I am running on XP
